Falcon
What is Falcon?
Falcon is a web-based project portfolio management software specialized in transformation and strategy projects. With Falcon you can structure, plan, track and report projects at the push of a button. More about the individual functions can be found here.
In which projects is Falcon suitable?
Falcon was explicitly developed for strategy and transformation projects. These can be, for example, growth initiatives, efficiency projects, M&A situations or product, organisation or location changes. In our case studies you can read for which projects our customers use Falcon.
How does Falcon stand out from other tools?
Falcon's functions are designed to meet the challenges of demanding strategy and transformation projects. These include an intuitive tree structure, automatic traffic light evaluation in the dimensions of time and (financial) effects, live aggregation of all results and our reporting at the touch of a button. Why can't I do this with Excel?
Excel is used far too often to manage strategy and transformation projects. But unfortunately, Excel is utterly unsuitable for those cases due to its error-proneness, lack of clarity and lack of multi-user capability. Find out here what problems Excel causes and why Falcon is the better choice.
Is getting started with Falcon time-consuming or complex?
Falcon is ready to start in just a few clicks. Our Customer Success team supports you with your onboarding and assists you individually during the set-up process. Thanks to the Excel import function, you can transfer existing data to Falcon in just a few steps. In most cases, it only takes two to three weeks from the first step in Falcon to the initial kick-off.
Is Falcon difficult?
Falcon is intuitive and can be used directly by software and project novices without problems. We support you in using and understanding Falcon with our integrated support chat, help centre and email support. In addition, we offer an extensive training offer - from free online self-training to super-user training in person at your site.
Is there a minimum amount of users above which using Falcon makes sense?
It is difficult to make a general statement about this, as this depends entirely on the individual project and its objective. But: Using Falcon alone is fun but not necessarily useful. Most transformations in Falcon are therefore initiated with only a handful of people at the beginning and then quickly expanded. On average, Falcon begins to unfold its full potential with about 5-10 users - there is no upper limit. We would be happy to help you decide whether Falcon is the right tool for your project. Can I add more users in Falcon?
You can add more users to Falcon at any time and adapt your user team to the project situation. Your company account updates automatically, so you don't have to worry about licence management.
Do all users have the same permissions and access to all data?
In Falcon's permission system, you can assign different rights to individual users or user groups, thus protecting certain data. In addition to the manual assignment of rights, Falcon offers an automatic solution to do this work for you.
In which languages is Falcon available?
Falcon can be used in German and English. Each user can select the desired language in their settings. By the way: Falcon recognises the user's browser language during the initial login and selects the appropriate language on this basis.
Can I create reports?

Can I use Falcon for idea management?
Absolutely! Falcon is very flexible in the ways it can be used. You can manage your idea portfolio in Falcon's project tree or let your team create suggestions for activities that can be easily incorporated into the plan. What does Falcon cost?
Falcon's price is made up of a basic fee and a per-user price. The pricing depends on the number of users and the payment frequency. We would be happy to help you find the best solution for your project.

Setup and support
How does the Falcon set-up work?
The implementation starts with the technical set-up and, if necessary, the migration of your previous data into Falcon. It continues with user & PMO trainings up to the support of the first reporting cycle. We also provide help with project structuring to set up your project individually. Our experts have already supported numerous transformations and will be happy to help you set them up.
What do I need to get started?
A laptop or computer and an internet connection are all you need. Falcon is web-based and can be used with any standard browser. You don't need to bother with servers, technical setup or installations and can get started with your team immediately.
What do I have to consider when I choose to work with Falcon?
Have you used another tool or Excel so far? This is a common occurrence. Our Customer Success team will discuss the best approach for transferring existing project structures and data. Falcon makes the transition easy thanks to our intuitive import function.
How long will it take me to get Falcon up and running?
Falcon is ready to go very quickly. The exact schedule depends more on you and your company's plan. For example, if you want to use the implementation phase to restructure or further detail your project, perhaps you prefer an implementation over 2-4 weeks instead of a few days. We will follow your lead and assist you for an optimal implementation.
Can I set up a project in Falcon myself?
Of course! Falcon is very intuitive. After logging in, you can get started immediately. We provide instructions, such as our Project Start Resource, to help you get up and running. You can always use our integrated support chat if you have any questions.
From which devices can I use Falcon?
Falcon works on all computers, laptops and tablets, regardless of the operating system and in every standard browser.
Can I use Falcon from more than one device?
Yes, you can use Falcon on your desktop and on the road on your laptop or tablet. Falcon can handle up to three simultaneous logins per user account.
Can I link Falcon with other programmes?
Falcon provides a so-called Rest API, which makes it ideal as an interface. Typically, this is used by your IT department to set up connections to other systems. Our extensive API documentation can be checked for all technical details.
What do I do if I have questions about Falcon?
Excellent support is important to us. Falcon provides several ways to get answers to your questions quickly. Use our Help Centre or the live chat directly in Falcon and talk to our Customer Success team about your issue within only a few minutes.
Can I learn how to use Falcon all by myself?
We place a high value on intuitiveness and enable our users to work independently from day 1. Feel free to click around! Falcon warns you about irreversible actions. Our trash function helps you recover deleted information. If you have a question, our support chat will gladly help you.
Is support included in the price?
Falcon comes with a wide-ranging support offer. Everything a transformation needs is included: From our support chat, the help centre, online trainings for all employees, set-up meetings, PMO trainings or user trainings. We cover any additional needs after a clear agreement and at fixed prices.
Data protection and security
Are my data secure in Falcon?
Nordantech uses a variety of methods to protect your data. All data is stored encrypted using AES-256 and transmitted over secure connections. We are proud to exceed applicable industry security standards with Falcon and are constantly working to improve the security, redundancy, stability, and performance of our service. Many of our security procedures are also described on this website.
Where is Falcon hosted?
For the operation of Falcon, we exclusively use our own servers in the German data center (Frankfurt) of our provider Amazon Web Services. The data is stored encrypted using AES-256 within our own private cloud (VPC) and is not accessible to third parties. Additional servers within the EU are also used for the active connection between the front- and backend. A current overview of all subcontracting relationships can be found here.
Who owns the data transmitted to Falcon?
Nordantech does not become the owner of your data at any time. You, the customer, own and control all content submitted to Falcon. We process your data on your behalf. We do not use or process your data for any other purpose beyond your request. You can find all further information on the handling of your data in our current privacy policy.
Does Nordantech retain my data after the end of its use?
The default setting is that all data is stored as long as a Falcon hub exists. All test hubs are automatically deactivated after 30 days and released for deletion after another 3 months. For paid hubs, the situation is different after deactivation. These are archived for a period of 12 months for security reasons and only then released for final deletion. All data released for deletion (also via Falcon's trash function) will be permanently and irretrievably deleted after 3 months. If you wish an earlier manual deletion, please contact us.
What export and security options are available to me?
All administrators can export all hub data (profiles, schedule, effects, status) at any time. Each export is accompanied by an email with a download link and the location information of the requesting user. The download is then possible for 3 days. After this period, the export file will be deleted.
Does Nordantech conclude contracts for order data processing?
Of course we have a standard order data processing (so-called ADV contract). This can be concluded at any time. If required, simply contact us personally.
Trial
Is the trial period really free?
Yes! It ends automatically and without any obligations.
How can I start a trial?
The button "Get started" will take you to the registration for the trial. After entering the required data, you will receive your personal login link via e-mail.
How long does my trial last?
Your trial period lasts 30 days. We will inform you about the remaining time by e-mail so you can react in time.
Can I invite team members to my Falcon trial?
Absolutely. Falcon is most fun when you share it. You can add your colleagues in just a few clicks.
What happens when my trial period ends?
Your access to Falcon ends when your trial period expires. Your data will be stored for 6 months for possible recovery and will be automatically deleted afterwards. Your information will not be accessed by Nordantech or any third party at any time.
Do I have to cancel my trial?
No, cancellation is not required. The test phase ends automatically.
What happens if I want to buy Falcon?
Falcon is available to you in a simple and transparent licence model after your trial period. The costs are adapted to the needs of your projects. We are happy to answer any further questions you may have. Find out more about pricing here.
Project Management Office (PMO)
What does PMO mean?
The abbreviation PMO stands for Project Management Office. The PMO's task is to support project participants in planning, implementing and controlling project portfolios. You can find out more about the tasks of a PMO in this blog article.
When is project management useful?
Project management makes sense once your strategy and transformation projects reach a certain size and complexity. Standard procedures, clear structures and efficient software-supported cooperation can save a great deal of time. This way, the team is freed from administrative tasks and can focus on the project content.
What is a transformation project?
A transformation project can take many forms. Basically, they always involve major changes in a company that affect, for example, the business model, new markets or products, cost structures or acquisitions/divestments of business areas. Learn more about different transformation types.
How do you plan a transformation project?
A complex transformation project should be planned in detail and thoroughly before it starts. Focus topics of the planning phase are the project structure, the clustering of initiatives and measures and the detailed planning of activities, responsibilities and (financial) effects.
